Red Lobster - Seafood For People Who Can't See Food

Catch the Updated Braille & Large Print Menus Arriving at Red Lobster Restaurants This Week

Red Lobster Store_FrontRed Lobster wants you to know they care, no matter whether you can see or not. Starting next week, all of the nearly 700 Red Lobster restaurants in the United States will begin handing out new updated Braille and large print menus to guests who request one at their host-stand. So if you’re someone who loves seafood but can’t see food, Red Lobster is the place to need to go.

Red Lobster takes great pride in preparing fresh, delicious seafood over their wood-fired grill for you to enjoy. In other words; they Sea Food Differently™.

We can all appreciate the fact that only the highest-quality seafood from cold and warm water regions is served, including live lobster from the coast of New England, fresh salmon from Norway and many wild-caught fresh fish from the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. But it doesn’t stop there. Red Lobster stands by its’ Commitment to Quality on all dishes, whether you choose to order seafood, chicken, steak, pasta or just a salad for a light lunch; they are all good!

Grab your fishing net and catch one of these new items on your next visit:

Bar Harbor Salad
With dried berries and honey-roasted pecans with a blueberry-balsamic vinaigrette. Crumbled blue cheese served upon request.

Chesapeake Shrimp with Crab
A Chesapeake-grilled shrimp skewer topped with crab butter and five crab-and-seafood-stuffed shrimp with lobster beurre blanc. Served with wild rice pilaf and choice of accompaniment.

Parmesan-Crusted Chicken Alfredo
Served over corkscrew pasta and fresh broccoli.

Wood-Grilled Chicken with Portobello Wine Sauce
Served with mashed potatoes and choice of accompaniment.

Blue Cheese Sirloin
A 7 oz. peppercorn-seasoned sirloin, wood-grilled and topped with a creamy blue cheese sauce. Served over mashed potatoes and choice of accompaniment.

Island Grilled Mahi-Mahi and Shrimp
Wood-grilled, wild-caught mahi-mahi and a shrimp skewer brushed with a papaya-BBQ sauce and topped with fresh pineapple salsa. Served with wild rice pilaf and choice of accompaniment.

Tilapia with Roasted Vegetables
Fresh tilapia, seasoned and roasted in a parchment bag with white wine, asparagus, artichokes and wild rice pilaf.

I’d personally like to thank Red Lobster and their parent company Darden Restaurants for their efforts to bring excellent and independent dining experiences to people who are blind or have low vision. Instead of ignoring the needs of the visually impaired community like so many other restaurants do, they have chosen to embrace them and do whatever they can to ensure an equal dining experience for everyone regardless of level of sight.

Here at Braille Works we also transcribe Braille and large print menus for Olive Garden, Longhorn Steakhouse and The Capital Grille; all of which are owned & operated by Darden Restaurants.

I encourage anyone who is blind or partially sighted to support Darden because they are obviously doing their best to support you. Then again, why stop there? Sighted individuals (like me) should also feel encouraged to support Darden simply because it feels good to support a company who truly cares for their all of their customers, not just a select group.

Giving Back to the Sea: The Darden Restaurants Foundation works to bring to life the spirit of service through philanthropic support of charitable organizations across the country as well as the volunteer involvement of their 180,000 employees.
